Maniac Maggie

Hello ! We read the book Maniac  Magee . It was a great book .  In the beginning , his parents died leaving Maniac an orphan . Maniac  was really sad then And  ran away .  He came to two mills that was separated white and black . He meet a black girl named Amanda. Grayson found maniac sleeping by the buffalo pen . A few months later Grayson died . Maniac never wanted any one to care for him .  In the end he found Amanda again and she made him come to his new home . A few things about maniac is he is brave because  he went in Finsterwals back yard , he is the meanest person in town . He is nice because he helped Amanda fix her book .  He is so fast he beat a dog .  I am nice like maniac but not so brave .  I love to run like him . If I could save any one out of the book it would be mars bar because he was evil and mean at first but then he all most died because he was trying to save piper . After that he was a pretty nice guy . I had to leave my friend  because she got in trouble for coming over because she would have to sneak  over . If I could change any thing I would of had the book stay the same . If Maniac came in my class I thing he would be happy because we read his great book . I learned that no matter what color you are you are Special .

Walker's 5th grade wonders

HEY !! My name is Alexis when I first walked through the doors of 5th grade at Durfee I all most peed my pants because I was so scared . So far this year the thing that I enjoyed is my new teacher she is very pretty her name is Mrs. Walker well I think because Some times I call her Mrs Barnes,she was my teacher last year . The most hardest thing is function tables they are just to confusing. I know I will learn good manners because Mrs walker LOVES manners . If I was the teacher I would not want to change any thing in my class because it is great the way it is . The most important person to me is my mom because she loves me and cares for me . I think  I am awesome because people like me I help anyone that ask me . All of my friends are nice cool and helpful 

And 5TH GRADE IS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!

Here's The Scoop From Room 12

Today is another HOT day in room 12. It's  Wednesday September 11, 2013. The temperature says it is 86 right now . The hardest part about being in school is that we have no air conditioning and we only have a few fans. we are taking a district test in reading and math I think I did ok because I am not so good at math. We are reading Maniac Magee the best part of the book so far is that an old man named Grayson found Maniac and helped him a lot. I really did not like it when Grayson died. We have been working on plot character and settings while reading  Maniac characters-is the main people and other people in the story settings-is were the story takes place plot -is a series of events that takes the characters through an experience or change.We will be taking a States Test on September 25th I think I will do ok because I don't know all of my states but I now some of them.
